AUSTIN (WBAP/KLIF News) – A state representative says some companies are threatening Texas over its religious freedom law.
The state passed a law known as the “Pastor Protection Act” last year.
The measure lets pastors refuse to conduct same sex marriages.
Similar laws have drawn threats from companies like Disney and the National Football League.
Disney threatened to boycott production in Georgia as that state adopted a similar law.
Rep. Scott Sanford has joined more than 100 state lawmakers from across the country in signing a letter to those companies, calling on them to reconsider what the letter describes as public threats.
