FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF) – It is the opening weekend at the Fort Worth Opera for ‘JFK’ – an opera commissioned for the organization’s 70th anniversary.
Fort Worth Opera Director Darren Woods says the story is dedicated to President John F. Kennedy’s final hours alive in Fort Worth before flying to Dallas where he was assassinated.
“I wanted to opera to start when they entered the Texas hotel and to end when they left the hotel,” said Woods. “It all takes place in the Hotel Texas but it also takes place in the mind of JFK and Jackie.”
The premier is Saturday night but there will be two more showings next weekend and the weekend after.
Tickets are still available.
