Fake Money In a Motel Trash Can Leads To An Arrest

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – A couple from Bryan is now jailed on four counts of forgery and other charges after police say they left sheets of counterfeit $20 bills in a trash can at a College Station motel.

Along with the fake money, police found also found a Wal-Mart receipt in the trash and used that to link the couple to security tape from the store.  The evidence lead to the arrests of 39-year-old Robert Casselman and 35-year-old Heather Patterson.

The Eagle, reports police found nearly a thousand dollars in phony bills in Patterson’s car. Officers believe one of them used the fake money to buy items at Waco Wal-Mart stores, and then returned the goods to a Bryan store to get real cash refunds.
