ROWLETT (WBAP/KLIF News) Construction has begun on the $1B Bayside project in Rowlett. The entertainment area right by Lake Ray Hubbard, on a peninsula close to I-30 will have the state’s first blue lagoon. Expected to be the size of 10 football fields, it will be more like a huge, deep pool for swimming and even sail boats. The developer says water fountains at Bayside will rival the great fountains at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. Coming to the area is a resort, marina, two condo towers, homes, luxury apartments and lots of retail and entertainment spaces. Bayside is expected to be open in two years.
