DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – He hasn’t played a down in the NFL or even suited up for practice but the top draft choice of the Dallas Cowboys is the most popular player in the league, according to jersey sales.
Ezekiel Elliott, Ohio State running back selected fourth overall in last week’s draft, has been assigned Cowboys jersey number 21 and it has been flying off the shelves of sports fan stores across the country. Fox Sports reports second-overall pick Carson Wentz’s Philadelphia Eagles jersey was second-best, while the Los Angeles Rams’ Jared Goff, the draft’s number one overall pick, came in third.
Elliott was the star of the nationwide draft Thursday night when he showed up in Chicago for the televised event wearing a bare midriff shirt under his tuxedo jacket. So far, there is no crop top version of Zeke’s jersey but don’t be surprised if it becomes a reality.
