Grapevine Lake’s parks have now been closed for a year

GRAPEVINE (WBAP/KLIF) – The parks around Lake Grapevine are closed because of high water, as they have been for a full year now. The city of Grapevine ordered the parks closed on Mothers’ Day weekend of 2015 as extreme rain raised the lake to record levels swamping the city owned facilities on its shore. Some of those parks did manage to re-open sporadically since then, but more rain promptly closed them again. Grapevine Lake is still ten feet above normal level, but even when the water does drop the parks will need repair and renovation before they can be re-opened to the public. The best projection is that won’t happen until the Fourth of July at best.
