Health Officials Considering Taking the Fight Against Mosquitoes to the Air

FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF News) – Tarrant County’s Public Health Director said it’s time to consider aerial spraying for mosquito control.

Vinny Teneja said the number of West Nile-carrying mosquitoes they find in Tarrant County usually hits a high point in mid-August.

This year, it happened on the July 4th, and the unusually high number of mosquitoes is getting higher each week.

Teneja said the time to consider what’s to be done about it is now.

So far, only a few cases of human West Nile Virus have been confirmed in Tarrant County.
