PLANO (WBAP/KLIF News) – A man from Plano is hospitalized after a home invasion early Thursday morning.
Police said two men wearing camouflage bandannas broke into the victim’s home on Briar Ridge Lane, near Spring Creek Parkway and Midway Road, just after 2:00 a.m.
“There was a fight that ensued when the male homeowner resisted,” said Officer Jerry Minton. “There was at least one shot that was fired by one of the suspects, striking the homeowner in the abdomen area.”
The injury is described as non-life threatening. Police are still searching for the men.
“This area is generally pretty quite. It’s kind of an upscale neighborhood. I’ve not heard of any incidents such as this happening in this area,” said Minton.
