The man charged with the aggravated kidnapping of Christina Morris in August 2014 will appear in a Collin County court as of 9:00 am Tuesday, beginning his trial in front of a jury.
Enrique Arochi, 26, was the person last seen with Morris when she went missing just over two years ago. The two were captured on surveillance camera walking into a parking garage near the Shops of Legacy in Plano, and his Camaro was seen leaving the garage minutes later.
Police have also said they’ve found Morris’ DNA in the trunk of Arochi’s Camaro.
Arochi’s legal team moved for the case to be heard in a different county in June due to the publicity of Morris’ disappearance, but a judge denied the motion. The case was also set to be heard in June, but 24 discs worth of discovery provided by the prosecution forced the trial to be pushed back to September.
On the discs include surveillance footage, Arochi’s phone records while in jail, and public tips to police as to Morris’ whereabouts.
Though it’s been more than two years, friends and family of Morris are still actively searching for her. Most recently, they held an online candlelight vigil last week to mark the two year anniversary of Morris’ disappearance, asking people on Facebook to share memories, condolences, and any information about Morris’ whereabouts.
