Dallas (WBAP/KLIF News) – Thousands of people a day pass through Dallas’ Union Station transportation hub.  That’s why Deputy Mayor Pro-Tem Erik Wilson says it’s an appropriate landmark to name after Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson.

“She’s been an extraordinary advocate for the City of Dallas when it comes to transportation,” said Wilson.  “I see this as a fitting opportunity to compliment, or highlight her achievements.”

Johnson has served in the US House of Representatives since 1993.  Wilson says since then, she’s delivered $26 million for DART, and even more for other transportation and flood control projects.

Union Station will now be known as the Eddie Bernice Johnson Union Station…the vote was unanimous.
