Child Found Wandering in Parking Lot, Grandma Charged

PLANO (WBAP/KLIF News) – A North Texas grandmother and another family member were arrested after leaving a three-year-old child alone in a car.

Police said Cynthia Williams and the child’s cousin, Tracy Whetstone, went into a TJ Maxx on Preston Road in Plano then into a nearby McDonald’s to eat.

Williams told police she had given her grandchild medicine for congestion and he should have been knocked out.

Employees found the child wandering around the busy parking lot and called police.

Both are facing child abandonment charges.
