Dallas Commission Wants $25M to Build Homes for Homeless

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – The Dallas Commission on Homelessness issued a report Tuesday outlining two dozen recommendations for fixing Dallas’ homelessness problem.

According to the Dallas Morning News, they’re asking voters to approve a $25 million bond to pay for 1,000 permanent housing units in the next five years.

They also suggested adding a tax or small fee to real estate deals to help pay for services and housing.

The commission will vote on whether to approve its final report before handing it off to the mayor’s office.
