Suspect Shot Dead by Dallas Officer

Update at 4:18pm:

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – A carjacking in Oak Cliff leads to a deadly officer-involved shooting and a three hour stand-off.

Dallas Police Major Jimmy Vaughn says an officer spotted a car that had been stolen Wednesday morning.

He says the suspect pulled a gun on the officer so the officer shot and killed the suspect.

“During the course of this investigation, our SWAT team was notified due to a possibility of a second individual that entered a nearby residence,” said Major Vaughn.

Officers spent several hours but found no one inside the house.

The officer who stopped the carjacking suspect wasn’t hurt.

OAK CLIFF (WBAP/KLIF News) – An officer has been involved in a shooting at a home in west Oak Cliff.

Police have taped off an area near Jefferson and Westmoreland.

WFAA-TV said an ambulance was seen driving away from the scene.

There are reports the officer is okay.
