DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) If your water bill skyrocketed, it may be a mistake. Nearly 2,000 Dallas customers are victims of a clerical error for last month’s usage. Dallas Water Utilities says the meter reads were not posted in time to make the scheduled billing date, and those bills were overestimated. One customer reported his bill is usually about $40, but this time was more than 220. The agency recommends making sure the gallon usage on your water meter matches what is on your bill. The meters are locked, but you can likely get a key from a hardware store.
