Austin (WBAP/KLIF News) – Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller is taking fire for a tweet sent from his Twitter account.
It made reference to a poll which has Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump up over his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton by a point. Except in the place of Clinton’s name, it had a vulgarity, often referred to as the “c-word”.
Miller’s campaign says staffers were re-tweeting an earlier tweet, and didn’t realize it contained the vulgarity. The statement said Miller found the word offensive, and the tweet was pulled down within 10 minutes.
But state Democratic Party Executive Director Crystal Perkins issued a statement calling the tweet disgusting and an indication of how the Republican Party hates women.
A call to miller’s office has not yet been returned.
