Elections Judge Fired for Racist Post

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – A former Dallas County Democratic Party elections judge is the latest example of how what you post on social media can come back to haunt you.

The Commissioners Court removed Randy Smith, 43, from his position because he used the “N” word in a post on Facebook.

Smith apologized for the comment, and asked for leniency, given his 20 years on the job.

Smith said he was angry because he had been stabbed by a black man and spent days in the Intensive Care Unit.

The commission voted unanimously to fire him.
