FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF News) – Two Fort Worth police officers were injured when a flashbang device went off unexpectedly in one of their hands.
The SWAT officers were gathering equipment at police headquarters on Tuesday night before leaving to serve a warrant. That’s when the device detonated.
One officer was taken to the a Dallas hospital. The other in Fort Worth. Both injuries are non life-threatening.
Police are unsure what exactly happened that led to the flashbang going off while the officer was holding it.
