DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) Hundreds of students in Dallas are going to school with more confidence. Conn’s Home Plus donated a washer and dryer to Roger Q. Mills Elementary School. The school’s principal, Tonya Clark, told the Dallas Morning News that the average family in East Oak Cliff doesn’t have a washer or dryer. Mills has a uniform closet on hand for students who need something to wear while their clothes are being laundered. According to the Dallas ISD school-needs survey, a washer and dryer set is one of the three most requested items. Attendance sometimes suffers because of students who choose not to go to school in dirty clothes.
