AUSTIN (WBAP/KLIF News) – Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton led a 15 state coalition in filing a brief with the state’s highest appeals court on Thursday.
He’s asking it to uphold the Birdville School District’s policy of allowing students to sign up to speak at the start of school meetings.
The district is involved in a lawsuit with the American Humanist Organization, whose complaint is that many of the remarks include religious messages.
A judge ruled against the organization last year.
