COLLEYVILLE (WBAP/KLIF News) – A Colleyville Heritage High School student was arrested Thursday after a school resource officer received a tip from another student that he had a gun on campus.
The SRO and the principal searched the student’s backpack and found a .45 Remington semi-automatic handgun.
It wasn’t loaded, but there were bullets in the backpack.
Police said the weapon belonged to a family member and no threats had been made by the student.
The principal sent a letter to parents saying they believed this was an isolated incident.
