McKINNEY (WBAP/KLIF News) – President-elect Donald Trump isn’t the only winner of Tuesday’s election hoping to make a change. Local politicians are also setting their agendas.
Collin County State Representative Matt Shaheen said he wasn’t surprised by Trump’s victory. “When you have a massive turnout, that’s not to keep the status quo. It’s for change.”
Shaheen said his main priority is doing what it takes to prevent situations like what happened with Kayla Gomez, 10. “We just lost a little girl that was killed by an illegal alien. It’s absolutely heartbreaking. We, as a state, need to a better job with sanctuary cities to keep our citizens safe.”
This will be Shaheen’s second term. He won in 2014 and has also served as a County Commissioner in Collin County.
