Dallas Baptist Church Votes on Accepting LGBT Community Members

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – The Wilshire Baptist Church voted to give members of the LGBT community full membership to the church.

The church, which has about 1600 active members, already voted on a resolution that would allow LGBT members the ability to participate in activities like marriages and hold leadership positions.

A senior pastor said the Baptist General Convention threatened to expel the church from the Texas Baptist Convention if the resolution passed.

The results were emailed to church members and was made public Monday.
