ENNIS (WBAP/KLIF News) – A Dallas County man who fired numerous shots at an Ennis police officer during a high-speed chase pleaded guilty.
Javier Martinez pleaded guilty to several felony offenses related to his involvement in an attempted kidnapping and firing shots from a rifle at the officer during the pursuit.
He also pleaded guilty to possessing and distributing cocaine and heroin.
Prosecutors said Martinez was the mastermind in a botched kidnapping over an unpaid drug debt back in July.
He faces life in prison and a $2.75 million fine.
The trial for his two alleged accomplices in the kidnapping is set for next month.
