City, County to Let Judge Settle Dispute

McKINNEY (WBAP/KLIF News) – The City of McKinney is suing Collin County.

In this case though, both sides say they’re not antagonists, they’re simply trying to clear up a vague point in the law.

Both the city and the county claim they have the right to regulate development in an unincorporated area that lies within the county, but has been earmarked for annexation by the city.

At the heart of the dispute is a proposed RV park that the county has approved, but the city says would interfere with its plans for that area.

Neither side is willing to back down.

So, they’ve agreed they need a judge to settle the dispute.
