DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – A Dallas man got five years in prison for sex trafficking a mentally challenged teenage girl.
Mecose Shorter and his two accomplices were convicted of forcing the girl into prostitution at various hotels around Dallas in July 2013.
Prosecutors said the group took advantage of her diminished mental capacity and tricked her into leaving her home to be with them.
Once they had her, the group deprived her of food and prevented her from leaving the room to encourage her to engage in prostitution for them.
Investigators with the Dallas Police Department rescued the victim about three weeks into the ordeal.
