DALLAS (WBAP & KLIF News) — The State Fair of Texas is kicking in a large chunk of money to help renovate Fair Park.
The fair is giving the Dallas Parks and Recreation Department a minimum of $6 million. From there, according to the Fair’s Karissa Condoianis, the city will decide how that money is spent.
“We just want to continue to do our part,” Condoianis said. “To help upkeep this beautiful landmark we have here in the City of Dallas and State of Texas.”
She says once the city decides how the money will be spent, the fair will also kick in additional money to fund renovation projects of their own.
The money could go toward anything from repairing roofs to improving landmarks like the Cotton Bowl Plaza or Hall of State.
“This has been our home for 130 years, and Fair Park is also a historic landmark and a jewel to the City of Dallas,” Condoianis said. “So we want to continue to do our part.”
