ELLIS COUNTY  (WBAP/KLIF News) – The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating what caused an Ennis school bush to crash into a ditch Tuesday morning.

The department’s Lonnie Haschel said two children and a bus monitor were injured and taken to a local hospital for treatment.

He said none of the injuries are life-threatening.

It happened just after 6:30 a.m. in the 1000 block of Zmolek Road, west of Highway 85.

Haschel said the bus was traveling east on Zmolek when it veered off the north side of the roadway before it crashed into the ditch.

There were a total of seven children on the bus along with the driver and bus monitor. The crash is under investigation.
