Undated (WBAP/KLIF) – Protest demonstrations that feature the absence of protestors are taking place across the country. Organizers call them “a day without immigrants,” and say the idea is to demonstrate how important immigrants are by having them not go to work, or to school, and not go shopping. It’s a reaction to recent roundups and deportations. Similar concerns prompted demonstrations in north Texas eleven years ago, but back then demonstrators marched in the streets, now they intend to show their power by not being seen in public.
