The 35th Annual North Texas Irish Festival Kicks Off at Fair Park

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Friday marks the start of the 35th annual North Texas Irish Festival.

The event at Dallas’ Fair Park includes 13 stages filled with music and plenty of food.

“You’re going to get your Irish stew in a bread bowl and you’re going to get Shepherd’s Pie,” said organizer Sheri Bush. “We have Fletcher’s Corny Dogs for crying out loud!”

Bush says the music will be all over the place.

“We’ve got 13 stages and about 35 or 36 bands across the weekend,” Bush said. “If you can’t find something you’d like to listen to, you’re not looking hard enough.”

This year’s theme is “Texas Grown — Irish Roots” celebrating the Lone Star State’s role in preserving, celebrating and furthering Irish culture in the United States.

There will be chef demonstrations, whiskey tastings and activities for children as well.

The 36th annual North Texas Irish Festival starts Friday and runs through Sunday at Fair Park in Dallas.
