(WBAP/KLIF) – Senator John Cornyn says he supports the effort by House Republicans in launching their healthcare bill.
Cornyn does not agree with some within his own party calling the bill “Obamacare 2.0,” or “Obamacare Lite.”
“I don’t think that’s an accurate characterization,” Cornyn said during a teleconference with reporters Wednesday. “There’s two choices. One is the status quo which is with Obamacare in meltdown and the other is to try and do something to improve on the status quo.”
Cornyn thinks it could be five weeks until the House bill reaches the Senate.
“It’s important to recognize that we’re just at the beginning of a multi-week process,” Cornyn said.
