Arlington (WBAP/KLIF) – UPS has told the city of Arlington it wants to create a regional shipping hub there, but wants a break on taxes to make it happen. The proposal goes to Arlington’s City Council Tuesday. UPS says it’ll make a $100 million investment, and create 1,400 jobs in Arlington. In return it wants the city to refund 85% of its taxes for seven years. UPS says its new facility would probably be ready in about a year, but it may take a few years to achieve its 1,400 new jobs projection.
