DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Improving news out of Dallas City Hall in regards to the city’s 911 system.
The city reports no spikes in calls over the past several days and that calls were answered on average within 3 to 19 seconds depending on the day.
On Saturday, the service level dropped to 62 percent because of employees calling in sick and high priority incidents.
On Monday, the service level dropped to 61 percent because of a power outage that spanned Southwest Dallas to Grand Prairie.
Friday’s service level was 83 percent and Sunday’s was 91 percent.
The service level is the percentage of calls answered within 10 seconds.
The City of Dallas and Dallas Police Department has been trying to put more 911 call takers in rotation.
