FRISCO (WBAP/KLIF News) – A Frisco homeowner was arrested for allegedly shooting a roofing contractor that was selling his trade door to door.
Frisco police said officers responded to the house in the 6000 block of Larkspur Lane Monday afternoon after receiving a call about a man who had been shot.
Investigators have identified the shooter as Radu Chivu.
They said Chivu’s home had several no soliciting signs posted and the shooting occurred when he confronted the contractor outside.
Neighbor Ginny Schwartz told WFAA TV she was floored when she heard about the shooting.
“Immediately I thought that poor man…it has to be that same man because I didn’t see anyone else come around,” she said.
Her husband Jonathan Schwartz told told WFAA TV he never thought this type of crime would occur on his street.
“Coming from Brooklyn and living in Texas now…even that was shocking,” he said.
Ginny Schwartz said she was even more shocked when she learned that Chivu had been identified as the shooter.
“I’ve even met the neighbors across the street and they’re very nice and it’s a sad thing,” she said.
The victim was taken to a local hospital. Chivu is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
