DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – One person was killed and two were injured after a crane collapsed at a work-site in the Dallas Arts District Monday afternoon.
Dallas Fire Rescues Jason Evans said a crane tipped over near Ross and Highway 75 just before 3 p.m., crushing one person on the ground.
“We got here, we saw that the crane was already tipped over with a man underneath,” he said.
Evans said crews secured the scene but the company behind the operation will have to deal with the actual crane.
“It’s a relatively large operation considering the size of the equipment. So, it may very well be possible that the company involved have a privately-contracted company come out and do the removal of the crane,” he said.
The victim’s name has not been released.
Investigators are working with the company to determine why the crane tipped over.
