Arlington city council extends smoking ban

ARLINGTON (WBAP/KLIF News) –The city of Arlington now joins 70 other Texas cities designated as ”100 percent smoke free.”

In front of a packed city hall, the council voted 7-2 to support extending the smoke free measure to adult businesses, pool halls, bowling centers and night clubs.

In regards to the banning of e-cigarettes, council woman Victoria Farrar-Myers recommend they wait until the Food and Drug administration finishes studying the long term effects of the device.

Those in violation of the new smoke ordinance will be charged $2,000 per violation.
