Irving Metro PCS Employee Accused of Repeatedly Sexually Assaulting Nine-Year-Old Girl

IRVING (WBAP/KLIF News) – The Irving Police Department arrested a Metro PCS employee for allegedly sexually assaulting a nine-year-old girl numerous times at his job.

The department’s James McLellan said 36-year-old Gerardo Israel Strauss has been charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child with a bond set at $100,000.

Investigators said over the past year, the victim was dropped off at the store on East Grauwyler Road near North Irving Heights Drive while her mother attended a fitness class next door.

On April 18,2017, the victim told police she had been inappropriately touched by a man in the store.

During a forensic interview, McLellan said the victim described being taken to a back room on several occasions by a male employee where he sexually assaulted her.

Police arrested Strauss on May 12 and booked him into the Irving City Jail.

The department is urging parents to question children who may have been left unattended with Strauss about inappropriate physical contact.

Anyone who feels their child may have been a victim is asked to contact the Irving Police Department.
