DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) — A Dallas employee who was caught watching child pornography at work has been sentenced to 12 years in prison. Jerry Wayne Smith, 53, plead guilty in January to one count of shipping and transporting child pornography.
Smith was working in Dallas’ fleet management department last fall when coworkers alerted their supervisor that they had seen Smith watching child pornography on his cell phone. The Alvarado man originally told investigators that he did in-fact have nude pictures of children on his phone but kept kept them for non-sexual reasons. After searching Smith’s phone police found he had been trading picture and video files of children with other offenders.
