Dallas ISD is investigating one of its Officers after alleged video shows the Officer slamming a student to the ground.
Video reportedly shows the officer breaking up a fight between two girls at Piedmont G.L.O.B.A.L. Academy, then picking up one of the girls and throwing her to the ground.
According to the school district, the Officer has been placed on administrative leave.
DISD released the following statement:
“Thursday, May 11 we received information about a social media post circulating of students at Piedmont G.L.O.B.A.L. Academy involved in a physical altercation following dismissal on Wednesday, May 10. The video also captures a Dallas ISD police officer who attempts to end the disruption, however, his actions do not appear to represent the type of response we want our officers to display. The officer has been placed on administrative leave while we conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.”
The incident came less than a week after accusations from a parent at another school claiming that DISD Officers handcuffed a 7 year old boy for misbehavior.
