Suspect in Fatal Arlington Hit and Run Comes Forward

ARLINGTON  (WBAP/KLIF News) – The woman Arlington police believe is responsible for a fatal hit and run accident Monday morning has come forward.

The accident happened right after a fatal wreck around 1:45 a.m. on I-20 near Kelly Elliot Road.

Investigators said a man was killed when his car crashed into a guardrail, rolled over multiple times and he was ejected from the vehicle.

The woman riding with him got out of the car to check on him and was hit by another car and killed.

Sergeant Vanessa Harrison said it’s unknown if the woman will face any charges.

“When your coming over the hill it’s hard to see and react in time. I think all of those factors are going to be considered before charges are filed,” she said.

Harrison said witnesses said it was dark and difficult to see the accident.

The driver’s identity has not been released.
