ARLINGTON (WBAP/KLIF) – One university and school district in North Texas are joining together to create a pathway for students toward an early start on their higher education.
The University of Texas at Arlington President Dr. Vistasp Karbhari says the partnership with Arlington ISD will allow students to put their hands on a Bachelor’s Degree.
“The day they sign on to this program, they’re actually assured a free pathway from where they are in high school right up to the end of their undergraduate degree with no wastage of credit,” said Karbhari.
Dr. Marcelo Cavazos, AISD Superintendent, says students must meet certain requirements before qualifying for the program.
“They are within six hours of completing an associates degree, and again these students are juniors that just finished their junior year in the early college high school and are beginning their senior year,” said Cavazos.
UTA and AISD are hoping the program will be an efficient way for students to start college.
