ELLIS COUNTY (WBAP/KLIF News) – A manhunt is underway for an inmate who has escaped from the Ellis County Jail Monday.
Authorities are searching for 67-year-old David Weldon Rowe, who was being held for suspicion of driving while intoxicated, evading arrest and disorderly conduct.
Investigators said Rowe was on a supervised work detail near Lone Elm Road and Meadow Court when he disappeared.
Authorities are using helicopters, canines and horses to search for Rowe.
Avoid Fm 1446 near Hoyt Rd. Sheriff’s office is searching for an escaped trustee.

Residents have been instructed to stay inside with their doors locked during the manhunt and to call police if they see Rowe.
