(CNN) — An Illinois man opened fire on a GOP congressional baseball practice in Alexandria, Virginia Wednesday around 8 a.m. ET. Five people were wounded.
Here’s what we know:
The Victims:
– House Majority Whip Representative Steve Scalise (R-La.) was shot in the hip. He is said to be in critical condition after undergoing surgery.
– Representative Roger Williams (R-TX) said his staffer, Zach Barth, was shot and is in stable condition.
– Matt Mika, a lobbyist for Tyson foods, was shot multiple times and in critical condition.
– Two Capitol Hill police agents, Crystal Griner and David Bailey, were injured and are in good condition.
The Shooter:
– Authorities identified the shooter as 66-year-old James Hodgkinson of Bellevue, Illinois. He was shot and killed during the attack.
– Investigators found anti- President Trump posts on social media pages allegedly belonging to Hodgkinson.
– Representative Jeff Duncan (R-SC) said Hodgkinson allegedly asked him whether Democrats or Republicans were playing at the baseball practice shortly before the shooting.
– He is said too have volunteered for Senator Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign. Sanders immediately issued a statement condemning the actions of the shooter.

The Congressional Baseball Game Will Go On:
Despite Wednesday’s shooting, representative Martha McSally (R-AZ) and Representative Eric Swalwell (D-CA) said Thursday’s congressional baseball game will go as planned.
