FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF) – Tarrant County is reporting the first North Texas West Nile human case of the year.
The case is out of Fort Worth and is the lesser serious West Nile Fever, not the severe form known as West Nile Neuroinvasive Disease.
No other information has been released because of privacy reasons.
Those suffering from the less serious version can usually recover on their own. Symptoms include headache, fever, muscle and joint aches, nausea and fatigue.
The first Tarrant County case comes nearly a month early when compared the first case last year which came in mid July.
