(WBAP/KLIF) For the first time in the ‘Mark Cuban Era,’ the Dallas Mavericks held a Top 10 pick in the NBA Draft. With the No 9 overall pick, the Mavericks focused on their back-court and selected North Carolina State point guard Dennis Smith Jr.
While only playing one season at N.C. State, Smith averaged 18.1 points, 6.2 assists and 4.6 rebounds in just 32 games. The Mavericks roster currently has point guards Seth Curry, Yogi Ferrell as well as NBA Veterans Devin Harris and J.J. Barea – who are all under contract for the 2017-2018 NBA Season.
