DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – A four year old girl is dead and her father seriously hurt after a boating accident in Temple.
Temple police said the father and daughter were swimming at Temple Lake Park on Friday, when they were run over by another boat. Police said Katlyn Oliver was caught in the propeller of the boat and when her father tried to save her, his legs were severed.
The two were taken to Scott And White Hospital, where Katlyn died at 7:45p.m., on Friday. A Justice of the Peace, has ordered an autopsy for Katlyn. Her father remains in serious condition.
The driver of the other boat, Jason Bernal, is in the Bell County Jail, pending charges. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
