DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – A Dallas Marine was among the 16 service members killed in a plane crash in Mississippi on Monday.
31-year-old Joshua Snowden was a flight engineer who lived in New York where his Marine base was stationed but grew up in the Metroplex.
On his Facebook page, there are pictures of a handful of Texas symbols, including the Texas pledge and pictures of Snowden wearing a shirt that resembles the Texas flag.
His family members have not spoken out publicly about his death but have taken to Facebook to grieve.
One family member posted a picture of the last text message the two exchanged. That text was a bible verse.
15 Marines and a Navy corpsman perished when their KC-130 aircraft crashed in a field in Itta Bena, Mississippi, about 100 miles north of Jackson.
The Marine Corps has not officially released the names of those killed in the crash.
The crash is under investigation.
