Four Arrested After Kids Found Covered in Dog Feces in “Nauseating” Texas Home

MART, Texas (AP) – Court records say four people were arrested after authorities found three young children covered in dog feces in a home in the small Central Texas town of Mart, about 100 miles south of Dallas.

Doyle Cross, Jana Fisher, Wesley Stanford and Darius Johnson were arrested Thursday, each charged with child endangerment. The children were placed in protective custody.

Child Protective Services workers did a welfare check Thursday following an earlier police report about the home’s appearance and smell. CPS workers had to call police after being denied entry by residents.

An affidavit says officers “gagged at the smell” upon entering the home. Officers then found the children – a 2-year-old girl, a 2-year-old boy and a 1-year-old boy.

An affidavit says the boys had blistering burns on their shoulders. Their mother – who was among those arrested – said they had sunburns.
