DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – The City of Arlington is among the Best Run Cities in the country. According to a recent study by Wallet Hub, Arlington is ranked number 42.
The study measured things like financial stability, safety scores, and education. Marketing and Communications Manager Jay Warren said the city ranked a little low in the area of infrastructure, and that could have to do with pollution and the fact that Arlington is in a metropolitan area.
Warren says there are major investments going on in infrastructure that he believes will improve Arlington. That includes 200 million dollars set aside to improve roads. Texas Department of Transportation is working with the city on the 360 / I-30 interchange as well as the 360 South expansion.
The City Council has also appointment a transportation committee to come up with innovative solutions to transportation, looking beyond the current transportation model.
Warren says later this month the city plans to launch the first public automated vehicle for use in the country. Money Magazine also just ranked Arlington ‘The Top Big City in the South” and one of the ‘Top Big Cities in the Country’.
