Texas legislators call on Dallas’ mayor to deal with the city’s Confederate monuments

Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – Five Dallas-based members of the Texas Legislature are urging Mayor Mike Rawlings to appoint a task force to decide what’s to be done with the city’s Confederate monuments. In a letter they sent to the Mayor they say the monuments are “offensive, hurtful and repugnant.” Mayor Rawlings has already said he believes the monuments are “problematic,” and he has already called for the kind of task force the lawmakers are suggesting. Dallas has Confederate memorials in Fair Park, Pioneer Plaza, and Lee Park.
