DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – AAA is warning drivers of the dangers of distracted driving as the solar eclipse approaches Monday.
Daniel Armbruster of AAA offered tips to those on the road during the eclipse.
“Don’t be distracted,” Armbruster said. “Don’t use a cell phone or other devices while you’re driving. Focus on the task of driving. You shouldn’t look at the eclipse while you’re driving and certainly don’t try to take photos while you’re driving. That can be very dangerous.”
Armbruster expects some added traffic here in Texas but nothing like the 14 states that are in the ‘totality’ zone.
For those interested in viewing the eclipse, he said to exit the highway, find a safe viewing area and under no circumstances should anyone wear the eclipse glasses while driving.
